Cont. Professional Development (CPD)
There are no formal entrance requirements although a scientific background to at least Master’s level degree level or equivalent is recommended.
The courses offered in the SafeSciMet Programme can be taken as “Stand Alone” modules. These modules will carry CPD credits which delegates can accrue to be part of their own CPD portfolio.
Course providers will issue attendance certificates to each delegate detailing the number of credits accrued which will be sanctioned by the Executive Committee of SafeSciMet. Credits are based on the number of hours of contact time within each course. In essence 1 hour contact time is equal to 1 CPD credit. Delegates will then “self accredit” and submit the attendance certificate with evidence of the course content to their nominated National Scheme* to which they belong. Please note that to accrue CPD credits delegates do not have to pass formal examinations
* National Schemes will accept self certification with evidence and a reflected account of what the delegate has gained from the module
